Congratulations to the 2015 Proof Lab Outdoor Award recipient – Denise Amador! We received inspiring applications from across the Bay Area, representing a diversity of age groups, backgrounds, interests and ambitions. With the help from a stellar advisory board of surfers, snowboarders, scientists, educators and leaders in the non-profit sector, we selected a deserving group of finalists and one incredible winner for the 2015 Proof Lab Outdoor Award. Denise is an intern at The National Parks Conservancy focused on trail restoration within the Bay Area.
As this year’s winner, Denise and The National Parks Conservancy have received a $2,500 cash donation from Proof Lab to further her trail work and habitat restoration project with inner city youth in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Her work serves to to both restore our local ecology and get inner city youth out to experience the wonder of the natural world first-hand. Denise will also receive a $500 gift bag with outdoor gear from our sponsors. Thanks to everyone who supported this project from the beginning!
We recently joined Denise and the Nature Parks Conservancy for a day in the field in Marin Headlands. We caught her in action leading a youth group clearing invasive plants from the Marin Headlands hillsides. The kids were having a blast!
